Henri Picard prestigious founder and gilder of the 19th century,

 

Picard renowned for the casting and gilding of decorative objects of very high production quality. Picard worked for the Defreville firm, and collaborated with designers of his time such as Charles Perrault and Grault. He received commissions from many important patrons, including Napoleon III

 

He created the gilding that adorns his apartments at the Palais du Louvre as well as decorative objects such as centerpieces, candelabras, wall lights and fireplace trims. …still visible in the Palais du Louvre apartment.
